Every time I watch an awards show I look at the celebrities’ skin in awe. How is it possible their skin can be so dewey and perfect? I realize having a professional make-up artist by your side doesn’t hurt. However, with the help of Allure.com and my collection of cosmetics, you too can get back your youthful glow.

If you’re looking for a creative DIY weekend beauty project, try doing newspaper nails. The video tutorial below is easy to follow, and doesn’t have too many steps or require artistic ability (just slather on nail polish, dip nails in rubbing alcohol then press on newspapers for a few seconds).

This project also doesn’t require too much stuff. If you decide to take it on, here’s a kit with everything you need to get started.

Pro tip: Make sure the base nail polish is completely dry before dipping in rubbing alcohol and pressing on newspaper or the newspaper letters will smear. Also, wait a while before putting a clear coat on top or you will also smear the newspaper letters. Lastly, for more contrast between the letters & the background, try white nail polish as the base.

If you’re like me, your bathroom can easily be overtaken by beauty products. A girl needs a lot of stuff to maintain her appearance (e.g., brushes, powders, creams, glosses, the list goes on…). Having a lot of stuff is great, but it’s no fun if you can’t find things when you need them!

Here is a great video on how to organize your beauty products, and BeautyMaven has pulled together a collection of items you can use to start getting organized.

Using eyeliner to make ‘cat-eyes’ draws attention to your eyes and can make them look longer. Here is the Best video tutorial on the web for how to do a cat-eye with your eyeliner.

And here is a cat-eye make-up kit with everything you need to make the look happen:

Yesterday, Refinery29 posted a great video on how to apply eye shadow easily and transition your look from day to night. This got me thinking about my beauty regime. Here is a collection of the products I love. The First Aid Beauty products are great for my sensitive skin and removing my makeup. Even if I have a few blemishes I still want my skin to look flawless and the Makeup Forever Primer & Foundation work perfectly. I also love the Lorac and Urban Decay palettes because the neutral colors transcend every season. My hair tends to be very straight and never hold a curl. These featured hair products give me that glam look I love when I’m heading out and about in the city. I hope you enjoy the collection and make your own with your favorite products.
